Bonnie Lin is a strategy advisor, investor, and speaker with over 20 years of experience driving growth and innovation in technology, manufacturing, and government. As Managing Director of The Rainmakers Global, she advises APAC family offices, corporates, and governments on innovation portfolio strategy. Bonnie is a General Partner of iDNext Capital, a $200 million Asia-backed venture capital fund in Silicon Valley investing in connected hardware and software.
Bonnie specializes in scaling high-growth technology ventures in global markets and deploying innovation capital from family wealth to accelerate emerging startup ecosystems, with technical expertise in venture capital, change leadership, and economic development. Her background spans marketing for tech giants as dot coms in the 1990s, lean manufacturing and cross-border M&A in Taiwan and China, and R&D grants under the Obama Administration during the Great Recession. In addition to working with 100 leaders from Fortune 500 companies to Shark Tank, Bonnie founded 4 businesses including a startup and a real estate investment brokerage.
A cancer survivor who grew up in a Buddhist monastery, Bonnie is led by a purpose to drive the responsible transfer of intergenerational wealth, knowledge, and power for the greater good. She is an advocate for education, entrepreneurship, and women in leadership. A Board Trustee of education nonprofit The Fogarty Foundation, she actively mentors global entrepreneurs and has previously served on the boards of the US District Export Council and Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition.
Bonnie resides in San Francisco and Perth and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. She holds a BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and executive certificates in Venture Capital and Economics from Berkeley School of Law and Value Investing from Columbia Business School.
