BIO
BONNIE LIN (she/her) is an impact investor, strategy consultant, and creative placemaker working at the intersection of public, private, and philanthropic capital for shared prosperity. As Managing Director of TheRainmakers Global, Bonnie advises family offices, governments, and corporates deploying strategic capital to accelerate innovation and scale impact. She is the co-founder of ThirdPlace Partners real estate impact fund and COVEN, a nonprofit accelerator amplifying sidelined voices through monumental art.
Bonnie has spent over 20 years driving growth and transformation in technology, finance, and manufacturing, leveraging her expertise in change leadership, venture capital, and economic development in ecosystems from Silicon Valley to China and the Australia outback. Her background spans finance PR for 90s dot coms turnedtech giants, global supply chain management, cross-border M&A in Asia, and innovation investments under theObama Administration during the 2008 Recession. Bonnie founded 4 companies, including a tech startup and areal estate investment brokerage, and has worked on personal, organizational, and community transformations with over 100 leaders and entrepreneurs, including 500 executives and Shark Tank founders.
Having grown up in a Buddhist monastery, raised two stepchildren with special needs, and navigated cancer, Bonnie is led by a purpose to collaborate and co-invest for the responsible stewardship of wealth, knowledge, and power to benefit people, planet, and place. She advocates for socioeconomic mobility through education, entrepreneurship, and women in leadership, mentoring deep tech founders and diverse emerging fund managers. Bonnie advises Berkeley Skydeck accelerator and Dharma Realm Buddhist University (DRBU) and is a Board Trustee of The Fogarty Foundation and Djerassi Resident Artists Program. Bonnie has previously served on the Investment Committee of Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2), R&D Grants Committee of Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition, and the US District Export Council.
Bonnie resides in San Francisco, is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and holds a BA from the University of California,Berkeley, MBA from the University of Phoenix, and executive certificates in Venture Capital & Economics fromBerkeley School of Law and Columbia Business School.
